We are a community of Secular Discalced Carmelites who all live in the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina near Asheville.

Ours is a Marian way of life descended from a community of hermits who lived on Mount Carmel in Palestine in the early 13th century. We follow the teachings of St. Teresa of Avila and St. John of the Cross, Doctors of the Roman Catholic Church.

Although updated by Vatican II, the reality of the Carmelite way of life remains the same today as almost five centuries ago: to live simply and always in the presence of God at the service of the Church.
