The Subject Index for the Carmel Clarion grew out of a request to OCDS Communities from Father Regis Jordan, OCD, Provincial Delegate, for formation materials that might be of service to the Washington Province OCDS.  Elizabeth Pantas, OCDS, submitted a rudimentary, handwritten subject index that the Flower of Carmel Community used to access the Clarion articles for research and enrichment purposes.  The question posed itself as to how to make this subject index available to others.  The Lord called Loretta Potts, a librarian, to our community a short time thereafter.  In collaboration, and with the permission of Father Regis, the index was born.  This endeavor has become a Community Apostolate.
